Interior Design

Greystone Interiors Founder and Lead Designer Mary Jo Gallagher listens carefully to clients’ dreams and needs for their South Jersey interior design projects. She then turns that information into beautiful, functional spaces.

Each Greystone Interiors design project involves three main stages:

1. The Initial Interview — We meet with the client at the project site to gather detailed information about the project, including

  • functional requirements
  • aesthetic desires
  • budget.

In turn, we provide information and design options to help the client determine their best course of action.

2. The Planning Stage — We begin this phase by taking accurate, on-site measurements. We then use those measurements to create scale drawings of the proposed designs. In ongoing conversations with our clients, we begin basic space planning and then make decisions about the finer design details — for

  • fabrics
  • flooring
  • window treatments
  • color
  • woodwork

We use computer-aided design (CAD) drawings to accurately provide final design information to clients and also their builder, architects and subcontractors.

3. Installation — We believe it is very important that we be on-site while our client’s space is being transformed in order to guarantee the results. We believe this is true for all projects, including

  • window treatment installation
  • renovations
  • painting
  • construction of built-in cabinetry.

We will supervise a project until it is completed to our client’s satisfaction.

Color Consult

Greystone Interiors LLC provides color consultation for both interior and exterior projects. Founder and Lead Designer Mary Jo Gallagher is a certified True Color Expert trained by renowned colorist Maria Killam. Mary Jo is highly skilled at helping her clients navigate the complexities of color and light to make the best decisions for their homes.

Mary Jo listens to her clients’ preferences and ideas about color selection, but always analyzes each project site to determine the color options in context. She carefully examines how color of nearby fixed elementsmight impact the colors of the project. The color of flooring, a bathroom sink, or a kitchen countertop might impact an interior project, for example. However, a home’s walkways or roof, and even neighboring houses, might interact with the color of a home’s exterior.

Light on exterior projects will change with time and cloud conditions; so Mary Jo will visit an exterior project site at various times of the day and on cloudy and sunny days.

Mary Jo can provide color consultation clients with paint samples and color boards that better display multiple swatches of paint. After a client makes the final color decisions, Mary Jo will prepare a report that specifies each selected paint color by color number, manufacturer and finish.

Mary Jo encourages color consultation clients to use Greystone Interiors’ trusted paint contractors, whom she will directly supervise on site. These painters thoroughly prep their projects—sanding surfaces, and caulking trim, for example —to ensure the new paint looks its best and last longer. Clients also can use the specifications from their Greystone Interiors’ color consultation to hire their own painters.

Greystone Interior bills by the hour or by the project for its color consultation services.

CAD Drawings

We use computer-aided design (CAD) drawings to speed communication, eliminate mistakes, and control costs.

Greystone Interiors uses computer-aided design (CAD) drawings to document projects from initial client interview through construction. Accurate CAD drawings help guarantee client satisfaction with the final plan. They also help tightly control a project’s time and cost expenditures.

Greystone Interiors uses on-site measurements to develop two-dimensional CAD drawings that show proposed design elements for each floor plan or elevation.

The CAD drawings provide contractors with crucial information for a project’s construction stage. They alsocan be transmitted electronically for faster communication. As a result, the CAD drawings help Greystone Interiors

  • eliminate mistakes
  • eliminate wasted time
  • avoid unnecessary cost.

Design/Build

Greystone Interiors offers its clients integrated design – build services. We will both guide the design process and supervise construction as general contractor from the project’s start to its finish. The design – build arrangement enables us to ensure that all work done correctly. We bring client designs into beautiful, functional reality.

For each design – build project, Greystone Interiors will assemble a highly skilled team of

  • architects
  • builders
  • artisans
  • contractors

We know that each member of our team will bring the quality and attention to detail that our customers require. Most customers choose to use contractors we have vetted. However, we are happy to work with the professionals that a client selects.

During the construction phase, our goal is to ensure that the work is completed to a client’s satisfaction.

  • We make frequent on-site visits and constantly communicate with contractors.
  • We clearly communicate the project’s design to contractors and artisans using computer-aided design (CAD) drawings. These scale drawings help eliminate mistakes and unnecessary cost.
  • We are the client’s liaison to the contractors and will facilitate any mid-project construction decisions that must be made.

We prefer to supervise projects from the very beginning. However, Greystone Interiors will provide construction supervision services for projects already underway.

Pricing

  • We provide our design build services on retainer, providing clients with a detailed monthly report of the time dedicated to each project.
  • Or we also can bill our design/build services by the hour.
